A premonition of misfortune to come, Mahler’s Tragic Symphony is illuminated by the composer’s love for his wife, Alma. It features some of the most profound human emotions, which Yannick Nézet-Séguin delivers with passion.
One of Montréal’s greatest composers left us at the beginning of 2023. José Evangelista left an impression on Quebec culture both through his music and the many composers and musicians he taught. The OM and its conductor will pay him one last tribute with a performance of Alap & Gat to close the season.
